Kenya has long been regarded as an origin at the forefront of high quality coffee, and the Githongo Coffee Factory is a fine example of this lasting legacy. Established in 1968, and owned by local farmers, this mill is processing coffees from over 960 farms, whose land stretches over 190 hectares. Cultivated in rich soil composed of red volcanic sediment, black cotton, and loam, this coffee grows under the natural canopy of the region, complete with antelopes, squirrels, anteaters, and monkeys.
