The Nariño department is situated in the west of Colombia, on the Equadorian border. Here, high in the mountains near the town of El Tablón, coffee farmers are hard at work. The conditions here near El Tablón are ideal for growing great coffee, with cold days and hot nights, which slows the ripening of the coffee cherries. At altitudes from 1500 MASL to 2100 MASL, this coffee was grown by many farmers throughout the area, each one a member of the Coopertiva Cafes Especiales de Nariño.
